Become an Engineering Newcomer 2025!
           
Together with Cadenas, we are looking for the best newcomer project in the field of engineering & development. Are you a pupil or student at a university, technical school or university of applied sciences? Then register now for the Engineering Newcomer 2025!

Whether you worked alone or in a team on your project or thesis - take the opportunity to secure great prizes, recognition and attention at the award ceremony. The expert jury will evaluate your work and award attractive prizes for you and your educational institution.

The competition offers you the opportunity to compete with other talents and demonstrate your skills. If your project is one of the TOP 3, you will have the opportunity to present it in person to a wide audience at the award ceremony.

How will it be judged? 
The expert jury will evaluate your project based on the content provided and according to the following criteria

      

• Innovation/creativity 
What makes your project special? 
• Utility value, technological benefits, market opportunities
Does your idea have market potential?

• Use of standardised/purchased parts, cost considerations, variability
Is your design cost-efficient through the use of standardised components?  (free CAD download here)
• Function and handling
How well does your project work? 
• Technological realisation 
How effectively and innovatively does your project utilise technology? 

• Presentation
How did you present your project? 

The competition procedure

Engineering Newcomer Leaderboard

For educational institutions and universities, the Engineering Newcomer offers a further incentive: by submitting entries and winning teams, the participating educational institutions receive points on an ongoing basis. At the end of each competition, it becomes clear which institution has so far sent the most successful and creative young talent into the race.

The educational institution that takes first place at the end of the competition can look forward to an additional prize of 500 euros.

Each project submitted earns 1 point. The winning schools receive an additional 10 points for first place, 6 points for second place and 3 points for third place.
